Description
Sporting dog trainers interested in increasing their knowledge in Canine fitness and conditioning to keep your athletes in peak shape for the sport they love, this is the course for you.
Signing up with this course you will have access to all the learning material and educational videos for 3 years. There is a hands-on lab course May 3-5/ 24 here in Abbotsford BC, Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance canine trainers and rehabilitation professionals here in Canada to build specific fitness progress for the patients needing additional conditioning to return to sport or stay injury free while living their best life.
This program focuses on all aspects of canine conditioning from anatomy, physiology, nutrition, behavior, exercise physiology, exercise progression and program design. After intensive online learning completed at your own pace, we meet for hands-on training to implement and practice what you have learned.
We focus not only on behavior techniques, cardio-vascular and musculoskeletal conditioning but also an in-depth assessment of the dog to determine the baseline fitness level and if it is eligible for conditioning.
Our goal is to expand the knowledge base of rehabilitation professionals and canine trainers of the importance of canine fitness along with educating owners on proper exercise specific to their dog.
After completing this course, graduates will have the knowledge and ability to build specific fitness programs for dogs in all stages of life – from the “couch potato” pet dog to sporting and working dogs. Students will learn the benefits of canine fitness and how it impacts the lives of dogs and their humans.
