For forty-four years I have had the great pleasure of sharing a home with several special Doberman Pinschers, which I have shown, bred, trained, handled, and loved. Currently there are three Dobermans that live in our home. In 2019 we added French Bulldogs to our breeding program and homes. We had the number three Frenchie in the country in 2020. In our limited breeding program, we have bred over seventy-five Doberman AKC champions, multiple Canadian Champions, and multiple Top Twenty Contenders, won the DPCA Top Twenty in 2019, had the youngest Doberman to qualify for the Top Twenty and many other multiple accolades. I have also had the great pleasure during these years of making wonderful friends within the show community. By sharing with this community, I have continued to work for the health, temperament, conformation, and performance of the purebred dog.
In over 43 years as a member of DPCA, some of my activities have included: 1st VP for 4 years, 2nd VP
for 6 years, Treasurer for 2 years, Senior ROM Evaluator, Chair of All Top Twenty Events, Chair of the
Finance Committee, National Show committee, National Show site committee, National Event Chair, Judging, Breeding, Obedience Seminars, Tracking Tests, Chapter Club Delegate, and AKC Parent Club Conference Delegate. My first National was in 1984, and since 1993 I have attended every National to date. During my terms in office, I attended and contributed to all board meetings.
As an active member of my local all-breed club & specialty club I have served in the following
capacities: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Show Chairman, Cluster Chairman of two 4-day All
Breed Conformation, Obedience, Rally, and Agility Circuits, Cluster Chairman of two 4-day 990 run
Agility Trials, Cluster Chair of the Summer Extravaganza which includes all companion events,
Secretary, and Board Member. I am also the past President of our State Federation of Dog Clubs,
which is actively involved with addressing current legislation.
Currently I am a AKC Working, Non-Sporting and Herding Group Judge with 2/3 of the sporting
group breeds. Professionally I have a degree in Business and Engineering. I am currently retired
which allows the flexibility to pursue my love for this sport. My previous experience as a CEO of a
small corporation has given me the experience of all aspects of running a business. On a personal
note, I have been married to my wife, Lori for forty-four years, have two grown children, Aislinn and
John Jr, and four granddaughters. |
