| Owned/Exhibited: Golden Retriever (also an all-breed professional handler) Dr. Elliot L. More, of Deerfield, New Hampshire, began showing dogs in the early 1960s. He began by helping his aunt show her Shelties in Montreal, and worked his way through high school and college by apprenticing for professional handlers. After extensive apprenticeships with top American handlers, Dr. More was granted the last all-breed handler’s license in 1977. He handled multiple group and Best in Show winners. In 1990, Dr. More was approved to judge the Sporting Group and has since added many working breeds. Career highlights include the Pointer, Golden Retriever (his original breed), and Brittany national specialties. He is a member of the Morris & Essex Kennel Club. He recently completed his first Westminster Dog Show judging assignment in February 2018. Dr. More has written chapters on grooming English Springer Spaniels and Golden Retrievers for books compiled by Anna Katherine Nicholas and Jeff Pepper. He has for years given lectures on various Sporting breeds. Dr. More retired from handling in 1990 and was accepted at a veterinary college in Prince Edward Island. He operates a multi-doctor practice in Derry, New Hampshire. |
