| Lisa Maki has been showing and breeding purebred dogs since 2009 and has been actively involved in both the canine and equestrian worlds since childhood. Raised with purebred Akitas and Irish Wolfhounds, she developed a lifelong passion for dogs that continues to shape her career and contributions to the sport today. Lisa has been actively involved in conformation, earthdog, scent work, barn hunt, field trials, obedience, and rally with her dachshunds. Lisa breeds Standard Wirehaired Dachshunds under the Cahladen prefix, and she has also owned and successfully exhibited Standard Longhaired Dachshunds. Her professional background is rooted in both human and veterinary medicine. Lisa holds a Bachelor's degree in nursing but has also worked extensively in animal medicine nursing for the past 30 years. She is also Fear Free Level 3/ Elite Achievement Certified, reflecting her commitment to compassionate, low-stress canine handling and exams. Lisa is deeply involved in the purebred dog community through leadership and service. She serves as Vice President of the Western Dachshund Club, and Chair of the Earth Dog Committee and is Vice President of the Fraser Valley Dog Fanciers All Breed Club. She is a proud member of the Dachshund Club of America, Prairie Dachshund Club, the Fraser Valley Ratters, and an Associate Member of the Dachshund Association of Canada, where she contributes as a member of the Mentorship and Education Committee. She is currently the CKC Examining Committee Chair for Zone 12 and serves as the CKC Junior Earthdog Representative for Zone 12. |
