Canuck Dogs.com was created to provide centralized access to Canadian event information. Modeled on two successful regional sites (including Manitoba Dogs), Canuck Dogs is run entirely by volunteers. Canuck Dogs is not a business and no one working on the site receives a wage or financial compensation of any kind.
All event, breeder, and business listings on the site are free of charge. Canuck Dogs does offer limited advertising on a donation basis in order to raise funds for a charity that it selects yearly. In 2008 the Canuck Dogs charity was the Dog Legislation Council of Canada. See the Canuck Dogs Annual Charity Selection Announcement for our 2009 charity. 100% of the donations go directly to the charity.
John MacDonald oversees the busy Atlantic section of the site and Sue Coghlan looks after the rest of the provinces plus the overall site. Canuck Dogs is very proud to be associated with the Quebec Canin website run by Chantal Cormier who provides the French content.
A part of the site that receives a lot of attention are the show results. Thanks to hard working volunteers at each show, Canuck Dogs is able to provide daily group results. If you see these volunteers hard at work at a show in the future, please take a moment to thank them for their hard work.
Head's up clubs -- results volunteers really appreciate being given a catalogue for your show. Even more helpful is to have your club send an electronic version of the catalogue on the day of the show to Sue ... that cuts the work the onsite volunteers need to do by more than half!
The success of the site depends entirely on those who use it so please feel free to drop us a line and let us know what you think!
